Okay.. so it’s no secret I’m a blog slacker. I’m 1000% a blog slacker.. seeing that my last real post was.. umm.. many many months ago.

Here’s a new years resolution, I will blog more! Okay, maybe. Maybe? Hopefully? I’ll try.. no really.

SO many things have happened over the last two years to get Cover Me Darling to where it is today. I started off barely knowing what to do. Graphic design and photography wise? Sure. I had that. I got that part. But actually working up a cover correctly? Nope, time to learn. I ended up getting hired for my first cover within the first week of being live with a facebook page. That cover will always hold a special place in my heart. And Rachael Brownell, so will you, for taking that chance on me. Soon I was getting a couple of covers a week, then I had my first month where I had 10 covers, and I thought that was absolutely insane. So I made a website, I learned as I went, I hired more models, I discovered the concept of premade covers, I started a twitter (which I still can’t stand, by the way..), I started to advertise, and off it went. Now I have a 3 month wait list, and I think this.. this is CRAZY. At the end of my first year, I ended up in first place for the IABB Favorite Cover Designer of 2014 award, and I lost it. It had been ONE year, and.. and.. what?! I was on cloud nine. Flying so high. I was honored and thrilled and overwhelmed. So I printed it out, and hung it up, proudly, in my studio.

This year, because of ALL of you, I get the honor to hang up another two awards in my studio.

It’s been a crazy ride so far, and I wouldn’t change a thing. I love what I do. I love who I do it for. I love continuing to learn. I love being able to put my degrees to use in the ways that I’ve always wanted to.

So thank you, every one of you, that has helped me get to where I am, taken a chance on me, guided me along the way, and trusted me to wrap MY art around your art.
